Substance Use Disorder

The Public Health Division offers a variety of resources for individuals and families who are affected by Substance Use Disorder. We understand that there is no "one size fits all" approach, but there are resources available in our community.

We also offer Narcan training to Lynn community members and businesses.

In 2023, from January to September, there have been 1,309 confirmed opioid-related deaths in Massachusetts.
Narcan, also known as Naloxone, is a medication used to temporarily reverse the effects caused by opioid overdoses, giving bystanders time to call 911 and decrease the chances of opioid related deaths. Narcan is free and now available 24/7 at our 5 new Naloxone cabinets locations throughout the city. Each Narcan kit contains 2 doses of Narcan, face shield, fentanyl test strips and list of local substance use resources in our area. On each cabinet there is a QR which links to a Narcan training video in both English and Spanish.
