Solid Waste Fee – Fiscal Year 2027
The City of Lynn charges an annual Solid Waste Fee for residential trash and recycling collection services. For Fiscal Year 2027, the annual fee is $114 per residential unit.
The annual fee is billed in two installments of $57 each. Property owners may also choose to pay the full $114 annual fee with the first installment.
FY2027 Billing Schedule
First Installment
- Bill mailed: September 15, 2026
- Amount: $57 per unit
- Due date: October 15, 2026
Second Installment
- Bill mailed: March 15, 2027
- Amount: $57 per unit
- Due date: April 15, 2027
Property owners who have not paid the full annual fee by April 15, 2027 will have an unpaid balance remaining on their account.
Unpaid Balances and Demand Fees
Any unpaid Solid Waste Fee balance remaining after April 15, 2027 will be subject to a $30 demand fee.
- Demand bills mailed: May 17, 2027
- Demand payment due: June 1, 2027
The demand fee is added to the account in accordance with the City’s collection procedures.
Unpaid Demand Balances
Any Solid Waste Fee balance, including the applicable demand fee, that remains unpaid after the June 1, 2027 demand due date will be placed as a special assessment on the property’s FY2028 Real Estate Tax bill, which is due August 1, 2027.
Property owners are encouraged to pay their Solid Waste Fee by the applicable due date to avoid additional charges and the assessment of the unpaid balance to the Real Estate Tax bill.
