Job Title: Grants Specialist
Vacancies: One contractual position, full-time, grant-funded
Work hours: 33.5 hours per week, flexible schedule set at the discretion of the Director of Public Health.
Salary
$26.75/hourly
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the City of Lynn Director of Public Health, the Public Health Grant Specialist will assist with managing the implementation of the Department’s various grants and subsequent activities. This will include but not be limited to the Department’s Community Health Improvement Plan Grant, Community Health Inclusion Index Grant, Contact Tracing Grant as well as other grants to be determined. The Grant Specialist will coordinate implementation of grants and provide technical support to other members of the Public Health Division, city departments, health care providers, and non-profit partners. This includes coordination of activities to build community awareness and understanding of current community health priorities, reduce barriers to information and services vital to community health, and to increase community connectedness.
• Create, convene, support and evaluate partnerships related to implementation of various grant activities
• Partner with community members and organizations to build support for evidence-informed programs, services, and projects
• Work with partners to identify community assets and needs related to community health promotion
• Plan, develop, organize, and facilitate community-based coalitions and meetings with stakeholders from local agencies, private businesses, and community organizations.
• Assist in coordination, execution and dissemination of materials to stakeholders and the public.
• Support all aspects of programming and grant operations.
• Assist with completing all data requirements and all reporting requirements of grant funders.
• Conduct surveys, focus groups for data collection and analysis to evaluate current policies, practices and systems.
• Collect data.
• Manage, prepare for and conduct meetings, workgroups, trainings and/or presentations.
• Recruitment of various community participants and volunteers.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other community partners and municipal stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to formulate goals and objectives to establish and maintain effective contacts with a variety of groups and organizations in and out of government.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in both oral and written form.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines.
• Ability to supervise, coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, board/committee members, officials and the general public.
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or five years of experience in public health, social work, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, including but not limited to part-time employment, internships, and active volunteering in the subject area.
• Bilingual/bicultural candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
• Working knowledge of the Lynn community strongly preferred.
